# Barnsley AI at Work | Atheni

Five funded places for Barnsley firms in construction, engineering and related trades to use AI in everyday work. Funded by BIST. Register for a place or the free webinar.

## Five funded places for Barnsley firms

Atheni is funded by the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST) to help six Barnsley firms in construction, engineering and related trades use AI in everyday work, such as writing quotes and method statements, answering emails and keeping on top of compliance paperwork. Apollo Access Holdings is our first firm, so five places remain.

### What your firm gets
- A fully funded 90-day programme for your staff, during working hours.
- Workshops in Barnsley built around your own documents and tasks.
- Individual coaching for each person, including complete beginners.
- The Atheni platform and AI tool licences for the programme.

### Using AI well
Staff learn to give AI clear instructions, check what it produces, keep company information safe and make sure the finished work still sounds like them. We measure where each person starts and again at the end, so you can see what's changed and which tasks now take less time.

### Who can apply
Small and medium-sized Barnsley firms in construction, engineering, access, fabrication, plant hire, maintenance, transport and allied trades. You'll need:
- a senior sponsor
- time released for staff to take part
- some example documents to share, which we anonymise
- support for short questionnaires before and after

We welcome staff at every level, particularly those aged 40 and over.

### How selection works
Register below and we'll be in touch within two working days. We'll choose five firms based on fit and readiness to take part. If we can't offer you a place, we'll tell you about other ways to get involved.

### Free webinar: Learn about AI in your business
**Wednesday 25 November, 12pm, online.** A practical introduction to what AI can do in a Barnsley trade business, with time for your questions. Register below and we'll send you the joining link.
