Barnsley AI at Work: privacy notice
Version 1.0
Barnsley AI at Work is run by Atheni Strategy Limited (company number 15355438), registered at The Terrace House, Kidds Hill, Hartfield TN7 4EP, and funded by the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST) through the Barnsley AI Upskilling Fund. We are responsible for the personal information we collect for the programme. Questions: barnsley@atheni.ai.
What we collect and why
When you register, we collect your contact details and your firm's name, postcode, sector and size. If your firm takes part, we also record each participant's job role, the characteristics the fund asks us to report (such as age band), and their attendance and progress. We record conversations only with permission. We use this information to run the programme, report to BIST and build the Barnsley content behind it.
Who we share it with
The funding requires us to share records with BIST, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, the Government Grants Management Service and BIST's independent evaluator, including records of firms that register but don't take part. The evaluator may link your details to the pre-training questionnaire and invite you to take part in research, which you can decline. We don't sell personal information or share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
Legal basis
We use your information to run and report on the programme because it is in our legitimate interests to deliver a publicly funded programme and meet the conditions of our grant. We record conversations only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We send marketing only if you opt in.
How long we keep it
Programme records are kept until September 2034, because the funder can audit the grant for seven years after it ends. Recordings and transcripts are deleted when the programme ends in September 2027. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. We may need to keep some records until the fund's evaluation is finished, and if so we'll tell you why. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
